The standardized CCS 2 ev socket inlet is designed for DC EV charging. It is also called Combined Charging System (CCS) Type 2 ev socket inlet. It is used for charging electric vehicles, mainly in Europe. It is also used in some countries outside of Europe, like Australia, New Zealand and India.
The connector is divided into two parts: the upper part and the lower part. The user can plug a female Type 2 connector into the upper part for AC charging or a female CCS2 connector (which also has a upper part and a lower part) into the socket for DC charging. So this socket is suitable for both conventional AC charging and for DC charging of electric cars.
A lock can be added upon request. When inserted into the vehicle inlet, the female plug is held in place by the locking mechanism.
